We Provide Opportunities to Youth that Won't Cost Anything!

Here at Youth Employment Success, we want to help youth out as much as possible with getting in to their desired industries and to do so, we offer a wide range of opportunities that wont cost you (the employer) or the youth anything other than a little bit of time!

Apprenticeship: Formally teaching youth trade skills via a recognised apprenticeship programme.

Business Walkthrough: This is swiftly showing youth through a local business, introducing them to the industry and teaching them how each organisation operates.

Coffee Date: A quick, informal meeting focused on checking in on a young person's career and personal development progress.

CV Review: A resume review to see if the content is accurate, error-free, and that experience and training match what employers are looking for.

Desk Shadowing: Job seekers accompany an experienced worker to see what their daily workday looks like.

Industry Standard Training: This involves upskilling youth to a level consistent with that of the industry standard. May or may not result in a formal qualification

Industry Entry Discussion: Meeting with workers and managers to discuss career expectations and what employers are looking for in a given industry.

Internship: This is temporary work guided by more experienced workers with an emphasis on learning on the job. This may be in paid or unpaid capacity.

Mentoring: A formal, career and personal development focused relationship between experienced local workers and youth.

Role Reversal Interview: Reversing interview and interviewer roles, this gives youth the opportunity to ask questions about a business or industry.

Skills Review: Coming together to discuss how current skills align with a chosen industry to assess future avenues for training and upskilling.

Mock Interview: A one-on-one training exercise, structured and conducted in the same manner as a real job interview.

NCEA Assessment: Encouraging youth to attain qualifications by offering on the job training via approved NCEA coursework.

Along with these opportunities, we also provide resources to local businesses on how to go about each opportunity ensuring the youth and employees get the most out of the experience. The opportunities are given in the hope that the youth will gain experience and also gain insights into industries that they may be interested in because transparency is something that is not common for businesses.
